Wines
over the centuries

On a remarkable geological site, specific to viticulture tailored for fine wines, Château Laroque achieved its first distinction in the 16th century.

The wines of Bordeaux established their reputation, including the nectars from the Laroque estate, which under the ownership of the Lavie family, grew up to 270 hectares. During the Second Empire, the estate still covered around 130 hectares (321 acres).

Today, it still remains the largest wine estate in Saint-Émillion with 61 hectares.

« We have been living Laroque
for generations across the seasons,
following the rhythm of nature,
on this historic land of Saint-Émilion. »

Stanislas Droin

After the phylloxera epidemic,
the resurrection of the château
and its wines began
in 1935 through the
constant efforts of a new family:
the Beaumartins.

Over the decades that followed, the arrival of Bruno Sainson ensurred that Château Laroque gain back confidence, emerge as one of the finest growths in Saint-Emilion, rising to the rank of Grand Cru Classé in 1996.

The passion was maintained by Xavier Beaumartin, who took over the estate in 2004, succeeded by his nephew Stanislas Droin in 2018.

The Beaumartin family called on David Suire to manage the estate in 2015. The increased boldness found in the wines showcases the limestone landscapes of Laroque. And it was from the 2018 vintage that the estate opened their distribution to a wider audience.
